The 1847-C is by far the most available quarter eagle from this mint. It is available in all circulated grades but nice, problem-free examples are becoming harder to find all the time.
This deep green-gold example shows some russet hues at the borders and has dirt in the protected areas. The surfaces are clean and choice with hints of luster on either side. A few small marks can be seen with the naked eye in the obverse fields.
The last NGC AU53 example to sell at auction was Bowers and Merena 11/10: 4829 which sold for $2,415.
A nice, affordable example which represents the best available quality for this date at less than $3,000.
