AFFORDABLE UNCIRCULATED 1891-CC HALF EAGLE
The 1891-CC is the closest thing there is to a "generic" issue in the Carson City half eagle series. It is common in circulated grades and it is only marginally scarce in MS60 to MS62. Most examples in this range, however, have been dipped or are very abraded.
This example is clearly from an overseas source and it shows attractive deep natural green-gold, orange and rose hues on the obverse and the reverse. Some marks can be seen on both sides and these a re consistent with the assigned grade.
The last PCGS MS61 1891-CC half eagle to sell at auction brought $2,233 as Heritage 11/14: 5139.
