Mintmark Below Bow variety; designated by PCGS.
Varieties of 1875-CC Dimes exist with the mintmark above and below the bow. The latter is the scarcer of the two and this issue is much rarer in high grades than the other two CC dimes which are available in lofty states of preservation, the 1876-CC and 1877-CC.
This borderline Gem is well struck and frosty with an extremely natural appearance. A small mark beneath the R in AMERICA narrowly keeps this from an otherwise-deserved full MS65 grade.
A PCGS MS64 example with CAC approval sold for $1,668 as Heritage 11/11: 3235. That coin was blast white and obviously freshly dipped.
Here is an opportunity to own a really nice Carson City dime at an affordable price level.
