The 1900-S double eagle is not easily located in MS63, especially with choice surfaces and natural color. In grades higher than this, it is very scarce and pricey.
This is a choice, high end example which is very frosty and showing pleasing medium green-gold and orange colors. There are no major marks noted in the fields and the eye appeal rivals that seen on MS64’s of this date.
I can find no auction records for a CAC approved PCGS MS63 1900-S double eagle since Goldberg 9/11: 2158 at $2,530.
A PCGS MS64 example with CAC approval, if available, would cost over $6,000.
CAC has approved 14 in this grade with just six finer.
