The 1876-CC is among the more available double eagles from this mint. As it tends to be well produced, it is a good choice for type purposes.
This is a pleasing, evenly worn example which was recently sourced in Europe. It doesn’t show quite enough detail to grade EF40 but it clearly a high end coin for a VF with pleasing color and good overall eye appeal.
There are no recent auction comparables for an 1876-CC $20.00 in this grade.
An affordable Type Two CC double eagle for the collector with a good sense of aesthetics.
