CHOICE EF 1867-S DOUBLE EAGLE WITH CAC APPROVAL
The 1867-S is regarded as the scarcest Type Two double eagle from the San Francisco mint. It is often seen in EF grades but not frequently with natural color and choice surfaces.
This piece shows natural deep russet color over lightly abraded surfaces. The strike, as usual, is weak, especially on the obverse.
Non-CAC PCGS EF45′s typically sell for $1,400-1,500.
