This popular Civil War coin is similar in rarity to the 1862-S but it is seen less often than the 1863-S and 1865-S.
For the grade, this piece is high end with a considerable amount of luster and pleasing green-gold color changing to orange at the edges. The obverse is a but flatly struck as usual and there is a long, thin scratch on the center of the obverse.
Affordable and desirable on account of its date of issue.
This is one of three approved by CAC in this grade with 20 finer.
