The 1860 is comparable in overall rarity to the 1857 and 1858 double eagles but it is more available in higher grades. In Uncirculated, it is usually seen in the MS60 to MS61 range and it is quite scarce above this.
This fresh coin has a very wholesome appearance with rich satiny mint luster and pleasing natural rose-gold and orange hues. The obverse shows some minor scuffs in the left field which limit the grade; the reverse is very choice and grades at least MS62 to MS63 on its own. A tiny natural grease stain on the reverse is well-hidden by the rays.
The last auction record for a PCGS MS61 example of this date was Heritage 5/12: 5233 at $7,475. That coin, while approved by CAC, was not as choice as the current piece.
This is the best available quality for the date at under $10,000.
