Classic Head, Plain 4 variety.
The short-lived Classic Head type was made from 1834 through 184=38. The 1834 Plain 4 is the most available date of this type and as such it is perfect for type purposes.
This choice, lustrous example shows rich natural caramel-gold colors on the obverse and reverse. A few scattered marks are noted including a vertical nick on the cheek.
Heritage 4/14: 24911, graded AU55 by NGC and approved by CAC, sold for $1,528.
CAC has approved 20 in this grade with 55 finer.
