The 1852-C is one of the most common and best produced half eagles from this mint which makes it perfect for the type collector.
This pleasing original example shows medium green-gold color with a decent amount of reddish hue mostly on the obverse. There are flashes of luster in the protected areas and the surfaces are free of deep, detracting marks.
No PCGS EF45 has sold at auction since Goldberg 2/12: 1533 which was not CAC certified; it brought $2,070.
An ideal coin for the collector who would like to acquire a single above-average half eagle from this mint for type purposes.
