Housed in an old “rattler” holder. By today’s standards, I grade this coin MS63+.
The 1875-S is one of the more common Trade Dollars in higher grades. As with all dates in this series, properly graded gems are scarce and undervalued.
This choice, lustrous example has light grey-gold toning atop clean surfaces. There are a few shallow scuffs in the left obverse and some very faint mint-made roller marks on both sides.
A nice type coin and certainly in demand when found in its current rattler holder.
CAC has approved 17 in this grade with 37 finer.
