This is an English token that is collected alongside United States colonials due to its reverse design which features a pyramid of stars with the initials of the 15 states which existed at the time. It is uncommon in MS65, yet it remains an affordable issue for the collector of early Americana.
This glossy example is slightly reflective with rich deep mottled brown color on the obverse, the reverse is a more even deeper hue. An obverse crack at the center is mint-made and should not be confused with a scratch of post-striking damage.
Heritage 1/11: 3080, graded MS65 Brown by PCGS and approved by CAC, sold for $2,300.
CAC has approved four in this grade with none finer.
