N-4. (Low R-3) Large Letters. Later die state with extensive circular cracks on the obverse and reverse.
As a date, the 1830 Cent is not really rare but it is not often seen in Uncirculated and even less so with good eye appeal and pleasing color.
This is a choice and really lovely coin with rich autumn leaves and brown colors highlighted by bold, unbroken luster on both sides. Were it not for a few old nicks on the face, this coin would easily grade at least MS63 it not MS64. The eye appeal is extremely high for the date and grade.
Another 1830 Cent graded MS62 Brown by PCGS (admittedly finer than the present example) sold for $9,200 as Stacks Bowers 1/12: 8114.
Exceptional value at under $2,000 and a variety which is worth a premium in this grade.
