In the late date With Motto New Orleans eagle series, the rarity of the 1894-O in MS62 and above is exceeded only by the 1899-O and the 1897-O. Above MS62, the 1894-O is quite scarce.
This is a very high end coin for the grade with above-average luster and pleasing rose and golden color. A small contact mark in the left obverse field is all the removes this coin from the MS63 level and it is far nicer than most seen in MS62 holders.
An MS63 example of this date with CAC approval is easily a $5,500 coin, making this choice MS62 with CAC approval a great value at less than half the price.
CAC has approved three in this grade with only two finer (both MS63).
