The 1889-CC is a scarcer date than the 1883-CC and 1884-CC but it is more available than the 1882-CC. It is not often seen above AU55 to AU58.
This very clean example has outstanding surfaces for the date with almost no detracting marks noted in the fields. The medium russet-gold color is original and appealing.
No CAC approved AU50 1889-CC double eagles have sold at auction in recent years.
