The 1874-CC is typically lumped with the 1875-CC but it is a much scarcer coin, especially in higher grades.
This lustrous example has the body and appearance of an AU50 to AU53 but it is a bit weakly struck at the right central reverse. There are a few scattered abrasions noted on both sides and some light to medium rose and orange-gold coloration.
The last two slabbed EF45′s to sell at auction were in July 2013, when a PCGS and an NGC both brought $3,525.
A presentable example of this underrated issue.
