The 1853 is a common Type One double eagle but it is less available than the 1851 and 1852, especially in properly graded AU58 and above.
This is a very clean slider example with almost no describable marks in the fields or on the devices. The color is a natural medium orange-gold and the detail is excellent for the issue. All in all, this is a choice and high end coin.
A nice non-CAC NGC AU58 brought $4,113 as Heritage 1/14: 7021.
CAC has approved 11 in this grade with nine finer.
