The 1841-C is a slightly better date in the Charlotte half eagle series and it is numismatically significant as the second year of issue with the mintmark on the reverse.
This Choice VF has the naked-eye appearance of an EF40 and it shows good detail and pleasing color. The surfaces show some old abrasions which are mostly worn smooth.
A slightly less attractive PCGS VF35 sold for $1,705 in the Heritage 8/14 auction.
An affordable but interesting half eagle from this southern branch mint.
