As with all dates of this type, the 1830 is seen from time to time in MS64 but it is rare in full Gem. This frosty example shows pale rose and russet toning and is very pleasing with just a few small ticks separating it from Gem status.
As a variety, JR-7 is common in lower grades and scarce in Uncirculated. It is very rare in properly graded MS64 and it may not exist much finer than this.
Here is an 1830 Dime which will be of interest to both date collectors and die variety specialists.
CAC has approved seven in this grade with two finer.
