The 1915-S Pan Pac quarter eagle is one of just two commemorative gold coins made in this denomination and it is clearly the most popular due to its extremely cool design. As most collectors will never be able to afford either of the two $50 gold pieces from the Pan-Pac exposition, this is the next best thing.

This borderline Gem shows nice color and surfaces with pleasing mint frost and obvious originality. It is clearly above average for the grade and for the issue.

The last two auction trades for PCGS MS64 examples are $4,508 and $4,406 in August and July of this year; neither coin was CAC approved.

The commemorative gold market has performed poorly in price over the last decade but this issue has actually held up well and it should continue to show good appreciation given its high level of demand.

CAC has approved 51 in this grade with 247 finer.
