Small Date variety. Normal Date.
The 1854 is a scarcer date than the 1851-1853, especially in the higher circulated grades. In AU55 to AU58 it is not easily located, especially with natural color and surfaces.
This lustrous piece has lovely deep, rich green-gold color with contrasting fiery orange-gold highlights. There is not much wear visible and the surfaces are very clean. A few small rim marks can be seen at the reverse over ATE in STATES.
There are only six auction records for this date in AU55 (all graded by NGC) since the beginning of 2010.
