The 1877-CC is one of the few CC half dollars which is sometimes seen in higher grades. Properly graded Gems are scarce and always popular with type collectors and date collectors alike.
This no-questions asked Gem has a frosty obverse paired with a semi-prooflike reverse. The obverse shows deep golden pastels while the reverse shows a light misting of champagne.
No CAC approved PCGS MS65 1877-CC half dollar has sold at auction in recent years. A non-CAC PCGS MS65 brought $7,050 in Heritage's 2013 ANA sale.
