AFFORDABLE LOWER GRADE 1855-O EAGLE
The 1855-O is a scarce issue with fewer than 100 known. It is almost never seen below EF grades and it is likely that this example was a pocket piece carried by someone for many years.
This well-worn example is choice and original with good detail and a very natural appearance. It is the single lowest graded 1855-O half eagle recorded by either major service and it is likely the most affordable which isn't cleaned or damaged.
