The 1894-O is one of the scarcer late date With Motto New Orleans eagles. I rank it as the third hardest date to find after the 1899-O and the 1897-O. It is very hard to find above properly graded MS62 and essentially unknown above MS63.
This lustrous example is well struck and frosty but just a bit too scuffy to grade higher than the assigned grade. It is undipped with nice even lemon-gold color.
The last NGC MS62 to sell at auction was a CAC approved example which brought $1,880. In June 2013, a non-CAC PCGS MS62 in an old green holder brought $2,056.
