Small Date variety, designated by PCGS.
Two varieties of 1854-O eagle are known: the Small Date and the Large Date. The Small Date is slightly scarcer and it is generally seen in the EF40 to AU53 grade range. Examples with natural color and choice surfaces are hard to locate.
This is a perfect coin for the grade with nice detail and pleasing natural russet color which deepens towards the borders.
Good value at current levels.
