We sold both of our PCGS/CAC MS64 examples of this date, so now we turn our attention to a slightly lower grade 1836 Classic Head $5.
This is a choice, frosty example which is just a few scuffs in the fields shy of consideration at the 64 level—and at half the price it seems like good value to me.
No CAC approved examples have sold at auction in years, and the last non-CAC coin in this grade brought $16,800 in May 2022.
CAC has approved 10 in MS63 with a dozen in grades higher.
