CAC approved 1836 half eagles are a bit tougher to locate than many collectors realize, and that when they are available at less than $2,500 they are immediate sellers.

I paid $2,280 for this coin, which I thought was a good value considering that the only comparable APR was $3,120 in April 2022 for a PCGS/CAC AU53+.

CAC has approved 14 in this grade with 65 finer.
