The 1860-S is a slightly better date in the Type One double eagle series and it is not often seen with natural color and choice surfaces.
This is a very solid coin for the grade with some luster visible below rich natural green gold color; some darker highlights can be seen on the obverse.
Heritage 4/14: 6789, a non-CAC NGC example, sold for $2,585 while Heritage 1/14: 7064, a PCGS EF45 with a CAC sticker realized $2,820.
CAC has approved seven in this grade with 25 finer.
