Classic Head.
The Classic Head design was struck from 1834 through 1838. Of the six issues struck at the Philadelphia mint, the 1834 Plain 4 is the most available and this makes it popular as a type coin. While readily available in AU55, only a small percentage of the coins so graded are choice enough to be approved by CAC.
This lustrous light green-gold example is frosty with minimal marks and an average quality strike showing a bit of softness at the centers. There are a few scattered marks consistent with the grade in the fields.
CAC has approved 17 in this grade with 51 finer.
