AFFORDABLE CHOICE AU 1892-CC HALF EAGLE
The 1892-CC is many times scarcer than the common 1891-CC half eagle. It is not rare in AU58 but most pieces so graded by the services have issues.
This frosty slider has a nice, natural appearance and has better eye appeal than examples of this date which I have seen in MS61 or even MS62 holders. It is clean and naturally toned with soft russet and rose colors which deepen at the rims.
A non-CAC PCGS AU58 realized $1,586 as Heritage 2/16: 4281.
An affordable Carson City half eagle which is perfect for the collector who would like one nice piece for type purposes.
CAC has approved 13 in this grade with 20 finer.
