The 1892-O is similar in rarity to the 1893-O eagle. It is moderately scarce in properly graded MS62, extremely scarce in MS63 and unknown finer.
This choice, frosty example shows nice soft orange-gold color with some darker greenish highlights. The obverse is flashy and choice while the reverse is a bit more subdued. Both sides are free of the deep marks associated with this date.
There have been six non-CAC MS62′s sold at auction in 2014 and prices have ranged from a low of $1,763 to a high of $2,820.
An MS63, if available, would cost close to 4x the price of this choice MS62 and I doubt you’d see much difference in appearance.
CAC has approved 23 in this grade with none finer.
