The 1893-CC is numismatically significant as the final year of issue for Carson City half eagles. This is not a scarce issue in AU58 but most pieces in this grade are not choice.
This slider example shows nice rose-gold, greenish and orange color and has no real wear on the high spots; just some light rub from friction in a bag. The surfaces show light marks, mostly on the obverse. I have seen inferior 1893-CC half eagles in MS61 holders.
A non-CAC PCGS AU58 example recently sold for $1,939 as Heritage 1/15: 7119.
A nice, affordable Carson City half eagle which is perfect for type purposes.
CAC has approved 16 in this grade with 11 finer.
