A virtually perfect example of his very common date which I feel is just perfect for a high-end 20th century US gold type set. The color is exceptional while the frost surfaces are virtually free of marks.
No PCGS/CAC MS66 examples of this date have ever sold at auction. In May of this year, a PCGS/CAC MS66 brought $1,920.
A nice PCGS/CAC MS67 common date Liberty Head quarter eagle is likely to cost more than double the amount of this piece, and I doubt you will see much—if any—difference between one of these and this high-end PCGS/CAC MS66+.
CAC has approved 65 in MS66/MS66+ with 26 finer.
