Two varieties of 1843-C quarter eagle are known: the rare Small Date and the common Large Date.
This is a decent coin with some natural surface intact. The strike is sharp with good overall definition.
A similar quality NGC AU55 example brought $3,720 as Heritage 2023 ANA: 3809, while another NGC AU55 realized $3,625 as Heritage 10/2021: 44035.
It is very difficult to locate decent C mint quarter eagles at the sub-$4000 price point.
