Housed in an old green label holder and, in my opinion, at least an AU50 if not a bit finer, by today’s standards.
The 1862-S is a fairly available and popular Civil War issue.
This piece is 100% natural with unadulterated medium russet color over lustrous surfaces. No serious marks are noted.
