AN NGC AU58 1892-CC $20 WITH “+++” COLOR
I purchased this 1892-CC $20 at the recent ANA show primarily for two reasons:
The color is extremely attractive—in my opinion—with the obverse showing rich orange-gold hues and the reverse a deeper reddish-orange which is most intense at the border. This is not an issue that I often see with color as nice as on this piece.
The surfaces are almost entirely reflective. Not enough to be designated as PL, but certainly more than enough to capture my attention. Again, this is an issue which is not often seen with his amount of reflectivity.
A small mint-made planchet defect below Liberty’s chin is not enough to keep me from totally digging this 1892-CC.
