TOUGH PCGS/CAC 1879-CC $20 IN AU55
There are four scarce, low-mintage Type Three double eagles from Carson City. These are the 1878-CC, 1879-CC, 1885-CC, and the 1891-CC. Most collectors opt for nice AU55 or AU58 examples given the scarcity and the high price levels on any coin from this quartet in MS60 and above.
This is a superb, very PQ example which is guaranteed 100% unaltered. The surfaces are really clean and wholesome and the visual appeal is very high.
In my opinion, this coin represents the best value in the market for higher grade examples of this date, given the scarcity and high price point of an AU58.
