1873-CC $20 GRADED AU55 BY PCGS
In terms of its overall rarity, the 1873-CC is the fourth scarcest of six Type Two double eagles made at the Carson City mint between 1870 and 1876. It is not often seen finer than AU55 to AU58, and despite hoards having been located in overseas banks since the late 1960s, the 1873-CC continues to be rare in any MS grade.
This coin is actually closer to be an AU58 than most of the examples seen in AU5 holders but it has a few too many marks noted on its lustrous russet-toned surfaces.
