NICE PCGS/CAC 1840-O HALF EAGLE

Variety 3; Narrow Rim with the mintmark over the V in FIVE. Not designated by PCGS.

The 1840-O half eagle is numismatically significant as it is the first half eagle made at the New Orleans mint. In EF grades, the 1840-O isn’t rare but most coins in 40 or 45 holders are very low end.

This 1840-O shows nice russet and green-gold color and is choice save for an old mark at the juncture of Liberty’s neck and throat.

CAC has approved 2 in this grade with 13 finer.

Please add $25.00 for shipping on all invoices totaling less than $2500.
