RARE AND POPULAR 1845-O QUARTER EAGLE

The 1845-O is the rarest quarter eagle from New Orleans with an original mintage of only 4,000 pieces. It is scarce in all grades and in strong demand from a variety of collectors.

This problem-free green-gold example shows choice surfaces which lack the typical mint-made planchet problems.

The only PCGS EF40 1845-O quarter eagle to sell at auction since May 2008 was a non-CAC piece which realized $4,025 as Heritage 3/11: 4631.

CAC has approved 2 in this grade with 10 finer.
