CHOICE 1860-S THREE DOLLARS

The 1860-S is the final collectible three dollar struck at the San Francisco mint. Only 7,000 were made and this date is most often seen in the EF and lower AU grades.

This example was likely carried as a “pocket piece” as it shows extensive but smooth and even wear below rich natural russet toning. The details are more suggestive of a VF coin.

It would be neat to try and assemble a set of all four collectible SF three dollar gold pieces with this sort of appearance.

CAC has approved this 1 coin in F12 with 15 finer.

Please add $25.00 for shipping on all invoices totaling less than $2500.
