POPULAR 1838 $5 GRADED AU58 BY PCGS

1838 represents the final year of issue for this short-lived type. In this year, the Philadelphia mint was joined—for the first time by the newly-opened Southern branch mints located in Charlotte and Dahlonega.

This is a true-to-the-grade slider with natural color. A bit scuffy, for sure, but an above-average coin in my opinion.

PCGS AU58 Classic Head half eagles of all dates are in high demand right now and this piece is likely to sell quickly.
