A relatively small number of circulated 1893-CC $20s exist, and this is clear evidence that this issue saw limited commercial use.
This coin seems pretty high-end for an AU53, and I think it is actually a solid 55. Both sides are frosty with a few wispy lines on the lower obverse.
No CAC approved AU53 has ever sold at auction. Stack’s Bowers 3/2023: 7115 was a non-CAC PCGS AU53 and it sold for $8,400.
CAC has approved nine in AU53 with 98 finer.
