A numismatically significant issue as it is the first Type Three double eagle from the Carson City mint, the 1877-CC has had its overall rarity greatly impacted over the last two+ decades as the result of overseas coins being repatriated to America. Many of these graded AU and many have been dipped-n-stripped.

You won’t find a nicer, more wholesome (and original) EF45 1877-CC than this choice coin.

No PCGS/CAC EF45s have sold at auction since Heritage 10/2022: 3330 at $9,000. In late 2024, an NGC/CAC EF45 brought $8,400.
