PERFECT FOR TYPE: A CHOICE PCGS/CAC AU58 1876-CC $20
There are two ideal candidates for a type Two Type coin from Carson City: these are the 1875-CC and the 1876-CC. If you have been looking for one, may I suggest this super high-end 1876-CC as it will fill your needs perfectly.
In my opinion, there is not much separating this coin from the typical MS61 CC $20. There is very little—if any—wear seen and the slight amount of friction on liberty’s cheek is likely from having been stacked instead of being spent.
The most recent APR for this date in PCGS/CAC AU58 is Heritage 10/2022: 3324 at $9,600, while a non-CAC example in this grade brought $8,400 in the Heritage 11/2024 sale. Two different PCGS/CAC PCGS MS61’s brought $14,400 each in November 2024.
This coin is really nice for the grade and it seems like good value when compared with an 1876-CC in MS61.
