This near-Gem has great color and luster. A few small marks on the obverse preclude a Gem grade and a considerably higher price tag.
There is an APR for another PCGS/CAC MS64+ for $4,800 in 8/2023, as well as $4,400 in 8/2022, $4,480 in 7/2022, and $5,160 in 6/2022.
If I were assembling a Gem type set of 20th century gold, I’d much rather have this slightly better date than a common 1926 or 1932 in MS65.
CAC has approved 57 in MS64/MS64+ with 34 finer.
