LOW MINTAGE 1892, PCGS/CAC MS63

A paltry 2,440 business strike 1892 quarter eagles were made. This date is much less rare than this small amount would suggest and it is likely that contemporary dealers and hoarders put quantities of the 1892 quarter eagle aside.

There is a small dig below Liberty’s bun and on her chin and neck.  The color and luster suggest a higher grade but the aforementioned obverse marks keep this at the 63 level.

No PCGS/CAC MS63 1892 quarter eagle has ever sold at auction. Just one in non-CAC PCGS MS63 has ever sold at auction and it brought $2,640 in October 2021.

CAC has approved six in this grade with nine finer.
