Only 1,920 business strike 1883 quarter eagles were made. This was a formerly much undervalued which has risen substantially in the last decade.
This semi-PL example is toned to a reddish-gold hue at the central obverse with the rest of the coin a medium greenish-gold. There are marks noted in the left obverse field and on the reverse beneath ST in STATES.
No PCGS/CAC AU55 has ever sold at auction. There are three APRs for non-CAC PCGS AU55s since 2016 with prices at $4,800 (10/2022), $4,600 (2/2020), and $4,935 (10/2016). A PCGS/CAC AU58 brought $7,800 in 12/2018.
