COLLECTOR GRADE PCGS/CAC VF35 1859-S
The 1859-S is a scarcer issue although not as much so as the popular Civil War dates from this facility.
In my opinion, this coin is conservatively graded as it looks like a solid EF40. The mintmark is large and filled giving it a unique appearance.
Stack’s Bowers sold a non-CAC PCGS VF35 example for $870 in April 2022.
CAC has approved two in this grade with seven finer.
