1857-S GRADED AU53 BY PCGS AND APPROVED BY CAC

A very nice example of this popular early date San Francisco quarter eagle which becomes very scarce in Uncirculated.

There are a few too many marks on the obverse to grade this coin AU55 but it is considerably more natural in appearance than most of the comparably graded 1857-S quarter eagles.

There are no relevant auction comparables for CAC approved 1857-S quarter eagles and the most recent sale of a non-CAC PCGS coin was for $1,260 in October 2021.

CAC has approved this one coin in AU53 with 32 finer.
